BeachPulse — Support
Questions, problems, or a fact we have wrong.
BeachPulse is a planning tool, not a safety service. On the beach, posted warning flags and lifeguards
govern — not this app. In an emergency, call 911.

We aim to respond within 1–2 business days.
Corrections are especially welcome. If a parking fee, an opening hour, a dog rule or a beach
description is wrong, tell us which beach and what you saw — local knowledge is better than any source
we can read from a desk.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Why is a beach missing? The app covers seventeen public beaches across three regions:
Tampa Bay, the Space Coast, and South Florida from Key Biscayne up to Deerfield Beach. Beaches are added
only when they offer something the existing list cannot already answer — a different kind of place,
not just another stretch of sand.
-
Why is a beach shown as "not ranked"? Because it could not fit the day you described.
Tap it and the reason is spelled out — usually the drive plus parking would leave too little time on
the sand to be worth the trip.
-
It says "not measured" instead of a number. That is deliberate. When a reading is
genuinely unavailable, the app says so rather than showing a zero or an average, because a zero would look
like a real — and terrible — measurement.
-
The drive time looks stale. The app tells you how old the answer is and offers to check
again. Driving times are cached briefly so that asking twice does not repeat the same request.
-
Do I have to share my location? No. Type a town name or ZIP code instead and everything
works the same way. See the Privacy Policy for what is sent where.
-
What does the red tide note mean? It reports the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation
Commission's own sampling near that beach, in their words and their categories. “No recent
sample” means nobody took one — it is not an all-clear, and the app says so rather than
leaving the space blank.
-
And the sargassum note? That is a satellite index of floating algae on the open water
over the past week, not a measurement of the sand. Seaweed offshore may or may not come ashore, and a
cloudy week reads as “too cloudy to tell” rather than as none.
-
How busy will it be? That figure is an estimate from the time, the day and the weather
— not a count of people, and the app says so wherever it appears.
-
How do I delete my data? Delete the app. There are no accounts, and everything the app
keeps lives on your phone and goes with it. Our routing service keeps a rounded, unidentified starting
point for at most an hour, then discards it. If you bought Pro, the anonymous purchase record is held by
our purchase provider; email us if you want it removed.
-
Is there a subscription? No. BeachPulse Pro is a single one-time purchase that adds the
days beyond today; everything else is free. If you reinstall or change phones, tap
Restore Purchases on the Pro screen.
